The word Concordia, "of the heart," describes the people who are dedicated to Lutheran higher education and to the rich heritage and tradition that have been preserved for well over 150 years in The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.
This year more than 20,000 students have chosen to receive their collegiate and professional education at one of the 10 Concordia Colleges / Universities of the LC-MS. Nearly 2,500 of these students are preparing to serve the LC-MS as professional church workers.
For more information about attending one of these Concordia Colleges, Tour the Campuses. Or check out Concordia University Nebraska located in Seward just 25 miles west of Lincoln and minutes from I-80. Second-Career Students' make up more than half of the student body of our LCMS seminaries in St. Louis and Fort Wayne. They come from a variety of occupations, but each has chosen to heed the Lord's call to become a servant-leader in His church. Second-career students are also found on the Concordia University System campuses studying to be future lay leaders or ministers, Directors of Christian Outreach, Deaconesses, Teachers, Directors of Christian Education, Directors of Family Life Ministry, Lay Ministers, or Directors of Parish Music.
